Mrs. Radhika Lee
DIRECTOR
An educator by profession and involved in international education for almost four decades, Radhika Lee founded Nairobi International School, in the September of 2008, as the first Eschool in East Africa.
A teacher of English, Mrs. Lee is also an avid sports and arts enthusiast who has contributed greatly to the secondary school sports in Kenya (especially Basketball). She has also been responsible for the birth of many music and arts festivals in Nairobi.
A compassionate, caring and selfless educator who has touched many lives in Africa through the various scholarship programs she offers, Mrs. Lee has also given hope and life to many cancer patients through the initiative she established, called CATSI (Cancer Awareness & Treatment Support Initiative) .
Mrs. Lee published her autobiography “Rainbows in my clouds” in the November of 2015.
A recipient of the 2020 BETT award for “Women in Technology”, hard work, compassion and commitment are the sole reasons behind Mrs. Lee’s success!

Equipped with a Master of Arts and Master of Education, in the June of 2007, Mrs. Menon embarked on her teaching career at Holy India international School, India. Being a student of the same school, she was privileged to be part of the teaching faculty. This experience inspired her to keep influencing young minds positively. Having taught in a couple more schools in India, she next explored her opportunities in Dubai. At Ambassador School, Dubai, she was appointed as the Head of Department and had many other roles to play simultaneously. Being in charge of External Examinations and the Head of the Student Council in the school helped her grow as a leader. She feels blessed to be part of Nairobi International School, where she joined as a teacher. Later she was appointed as a subject coordinator at the Prep level. Her dynamic nature, commitment and dedication then got her promoted as the Assistant Director and Mrs. Lee’s understudy.

A post graduate in Mathematics with a B Ed to complement, Mr. Gee has worked in Kenya for the past 24 years in various capacities. Currently in his role as the Deputy Head in charge of the Curricula and External exams, Mr. Gee has been an invaluable asset to the institution since its inception. He is one of the highly focused, meticulous and diligent members of our faculty. He adds immense value to the school, as he has realized that education is not an event but a process. Through his friendly and caring nature but firm approach to students, he has made teaching and learning of Math interesting and effective at NIS. He is always able to maintain his enthusiasm for teaching as he considers every lesson as a new lesson from where he too gains some new experience. Mr. Gee believes that a motivated learner requires a motivated teacher to flourish and that he certainly is!

Holder of a MA (Communication Studies), Diploma (Human Resource Management- Kenya Institute of Management) and B. ED (Arts – English and Literature) from the University Of Nairobi, Mrs. Mutoro is a dedicated educational leader with an exceptional ability to establish cooperative and professional relationships with learners, parents, staff and administration. Presently, she is the Deputy Head (Pastoral and Co-Curricular Affairs) at Nairobi International School. She has demonstrated history of working in the Education Management Industry; having served previously as a Deputy in charge of Academics. Her passion lies in training learners in English as a Second Language (ESL), English Language and Literature in English, through commitment to creating a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating and encouraging to them.
Mrs. Mutoro is a confident, resilient, organized, meticulous and self-driven individual with a reputation to get things done well. Her drive is to impact the lives of people she interacts with.

Mrs Adamjee is an educationist with 39 years of experience, who knows the importance of EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. She endeavours to develop the individual talents in children and help them become lifelong learners. She is enthusiastic, dedicated, adaptable and willing to experiment. Loves to learn and make a difference in children’s lives. She believes and works each day at NIS to enhance learning and provide extra ordinary environment for children to recognize their full potential.

Jessica Murotto is the Head of Preparatory with over 12 years of experience in teaching Key Stage 3 English & Literature. She has also taught Geography and taken on various roles, including House coordinator, back-up Hockey and swim coach, and theatre director. Jessica holds a BA in Journalism with a minor in Literature and a PGDE with specialized accreditation in teaching English & Literature. Her passion for learning fuels her dedication to education, where she finds immense joy in nurturing and witnessing the growth of her students.

A thriving middle school requires someone who is truly dedicated and has the ability to be on top of things every second of the day. For NIS, that person has been Mrs. Vasudev for the longest time. Her experience spans over three decades, two of those here in Kenya itself. One of her main duties at NIS is to oversee the quality of teaching & learning, working with heads of departments and observing lessons to ensure that each subject is delivered with excitement and pace so that students develop a love for learning and a strong sense of curiosity in their being. With a Masters in History and B.Ed to add on to it, Mrs. Vasudev promotes critical thinking and enables students to view themselves as members of the global community. In short, Mrs. Vasudev is responsible for the welfare, academic progress and conduct of students in our Middle School.

Holder of a B.Ed Science degree with specialization in Mathematics and Geography, Mr Omondi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field of education. His journey in the teaching profession began in the 1990s, providing him with invaluable insights and expertise that have shaped his approach to education. He is not just an educator, but also a dedicated team player, driven by a profound passion for instigating positive change within the school environment. In his capacity as a member of the discipline committee, exam department, and sports department, Mr. Omondi has actively contributed to the holistic development of our students. As a section head, he takes his role seriously, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all programs within his purview and the broader school context. His commitment extends to upholding the guiding principles of the institution, with a relentless focus on nurturing disciplined and responsible students. He believes in equipping our students with the tools they need to face the world with optimism and objectivity, shaping them into well-rounded individuals prepared to tackle the challenges of the future.

Foremost a passionate Educator, Edupreneur, Mentor, Coach and of course, a life-long learner, Ms. Biswas has been an educator and an education administrator in senior leadership roles for most of her career. She brings rich and tested business experience as well as knowledge facilitation skills, having led large teams of senior and middle level team members in the professional, vocational (BTEC Qualifications) and skills education sector (NSDC in India) spread over a period of 33 plus years.
With a MA in HR and Knowledge Management from the globally ranked Lancaster University Management School, Ms. Biswas has been dealing with diverse communities of practice for most of her career. Additionally, she also possesses a CICTL from CAIE.
Ms. Biswas is passionate about the delivery of education that leads to the promotion of the spirit of enquiry among youth which she believes, can be inculcated, mostly at the institutional level. Hence her interest lies in contributing to an education system where critical thinking skills are at the core of all learning and feedback systems, to further enhance the learning process for both learner and facilitator. She is really looking forward to bringing all her years of experience and qualifications together, to assist 'A' level students at NIS achieve an aspirational entry point into their dream careers.
