Our approach and curriculum
The middle school caters for students between ages 11 & 14. We focus on nurturing every child to fulfil his/her individual goals and aspirations. Our children are provided with opportunities to learn at their own pace through the Student-Centred Approach and differentiation. At the end of the 9th Year, choices are made for IGCSE subjects
At Middle School we try:
- To encourage curiosity and independent learning.
- To utilise ICT in daily learning.
- To promote critical thinking
- To instil moral values in children in order to build a strong character
- To prepare students for challenges, responsibilities, opportunities, and experiences of adult life.
- To stimulate and challenge every student.
Through regular formative and summative assessment, teachers at Middle School effectively tailor their lessons to enable excellent pupil progress. In years 7 and 8 majority of our subjects are geared towards the children sitting their Common Entrance Exams from ISEB, in June. We offer the following subjects at the middle school: English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Art, Music, Phys. Ed, Swimming, Spanish, French. German, Kiswahili, and Food & Nutrition
The Middle School Model United Nations (MSMUN) is a conference that is designed for junior high school students. The MUN programme simulates the activities of the real United Nations Organization. At the annual conferences, delegates are divided into various committees (Technology, Health, Human Rights and Ecology & Environment) which each deal with specific issues that the UN would have to deal with. This programme is an excellent platform for students to hone a number of skills including debating and public speaking skills, journalistic talents, leadership skills as well as providing an invaluable opportunity for students to develop their self-confidence. Student involvement continues to expand to include more and more students from not just Nairobi but also from all over Kenya and other countries.
